Opening- Honor Guard

Master of Ceremonies (MC): Everyone, please stand and remain standing until after the invocation.

From the back of the room, the honor guard marches and posts the colors in the front.
The honor guard leads the troop in the Pledge of Allegiance, Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Call to Order

(In Most instances,the person calling the court of honor to order will come to the front of the room without the MC asking him/her to do so. If the person does not come to the front of the room, then follow the script below).

MC:  At this time, I ask ___________________ to come forward and call this court of honor to order.

The committee chairperson, or his/her alternate, calls the court of honor to order.

MC: Thank you, _______________

Invocation

MC: At this time, will ______________________ please come forward to give us the invocation.

Either Monsignor, another priest, or the designated scout gives the invocation.

MC: Thank you, ______________________. Would everyone please be seated.

Welcoming

MC: I would like to welcome all of you to Troop 2's _________________ Court of Honor. This assembly is being held in honor and appreciation to all of those scouts whose hard work make the progression of this troop a possibility. Our first award of the night is the rank of __________________.

Rank Advancements

For each rank the MC will ask the scout who is presenting the advancement to come forward.

MC: (beginning) Will _________________ please come forward to present the rank of _____________.

Positions of Responsibility

MC: At this time, I ask ____________________ (Scoutmaster) to come forward and announce the positions of responsibilty.

Merit Badges

MC: At this time, I ask ________________________ to come forward and present the merit badges.

One person announces the scouts, another person gives the scouts their badges and shakes their hand. If there are a lot merit badges, then 3 scouts at a time should be asked to come forward.

Scout presenting merit badges: Will ______________ please come forward?

Scout receiving merit badge comes to the front of the room.

Scout presenting merit badges: ___________________________________ has earned the _______________________ merit badge(s) (state all that he has earned).

The presenter gives each scout his badge(s) and shakes his hand.

Service Stars

MC: At this time, I ask ___________________ to come forward and present the service stars.

The scout presenting the service stars calls up the scouts who have achieved a given year pin and gives the pins to all of those scouts at the same time. The same procedure applies for the adult service stars.

Special Awards

MC: (beginning) At this time, I ask _______________________ (Scoutmaster) to come forward and present special awards.

MC: (end) Thank you, ______________________.

Committee Announcements

MC: (beginning) At this time, I ask _____________________________ to come forward and share information regarding the troop committee.

MC: (end) Thank you,, ________________________________.

Scoutmaster's Minute

MC: (beginning) At this time, I ask ____________________ (Scoutmaster) to come forward for the Scoutmaster's Minute.

MC: (end) Thank you, ____________________. Before we conclude the program are there any announcments?

This concludes our program. Everyone please stand. The honor guard will now retire the colors. Once that is completed, you are invited to join us for refreshments.
